A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at Lovers Lane United Methodist Church, 9200 Inwood Road, Dallas, TX 75220, with a reception at the church following the service. We regret to report that Al Anglace, founder of Connecticut Travelers Sporting Clays, has passed away. In June, 1987, Al Anglace and six friends started a monthly shoot that grew into the Connecticut Travelers Sporting Clays Association, a club that now has over 500 members and a mission to support sporting clays. Al was a stalwart of the sport, a community leader, and a major influence on the Connecticut Travelers as well as the sport of sporting clays. Hundreds of young people and ladies are shooting today because they got a chance to shoot with the Travelers, thanks to Al’s emphasis on bringing juniors and women into the sport. We regret to report that long-time NSSA member Don Wyant passed away on February 13 after a brave battle with cancer. Wyant was an accomplished skeet shooter, hunter, and trout fisherman. He was a longstanding member of the Dallas Gun Club and served on their Board of Directors. He enjoyed being outdoors and observing animals, exploring canyons, and looking for fossils. Though he lived in many places in his life, Wyant retired to New Mexico, the state in which he was born and that he always considered home. Wyant is survived by two daughters, three granddaughters, six siblings, and nieces and nephews. His wife, Linda Ridenour Wyant preceded him in death. We are sad to report that a dear friend to the NSSA-NSCA, Heidi Juttner, passed away over the weekend. For many years, Heidi worked closely with the NSSA, NSCA, our members, and member gun clubs as the primary point of contact with our endorsed insurance company, Sportsman’s Insurance (SIAI). As requested by Heidi, there will be no memorial service or funeral; instead, her closest friends and family will celebrate her life this weekend with a private party in her honor. We are sad to report that E. Lee Dennis, NSSA Life Member from California, died on Saturday (June 11). Lee was an avid supporter of NSSA and the sport of skeet, and has been described as a “cornerstone” of Zone 7 shoots. As a 37-year member of NSSA, Lee was well-known to many shooters. Gaebe, 60, of Addieville East Farm in Mapleville, R.I., died at home Sunday, December 26, 2010, surrounded by family and friends after a courageous battle with cancer.
