Level III Course Criteria

Level III Course Criteria

Level III, “Teaching the Advanced Shooter”

Applicants must:

  • Be an active member of NSCA
  • Have been a Level II instructor for a minimum of 3 years
  • Must have taught and documented a minimum of 1,500 hours of paid instruction as a Level II (unpaid instruction may be considered, must be documented and may be accepted in lieu of paid hours by exception only by the NSCA’s Instructor Certification Committee)
  • Must meet a Shooting Proficiency Requirement by either by having earned their way to AA Class at some point and shot a minimum of 10,000 lifetime registered targets OR by passing a Shooting Proficiency Test (SPT) during the course.

The Cost

In addition to the $1,500 registration fee for the 4-day course which is submitted along with the application form to NSCA Headquarters, each applicant is responsible for bringing his/her own gun and approximately 250 shells. Students are also accountable for target fees of the host club and a percentage of the examiner’s/certifying instructor’s expenses. (This will vary depending on the number of students in each course and the amount of travel required for the examiner/certifying instructor.)
