Bob Christensen Obituary

We regret to inform the NSCA community that Life Member Robert A. “Bob” Christensen died early Saturday morning in Kansas while on a hunting trip with family and friends. Bob died from an apparent heart attack. He was 51.

Bob was CEO of Christensen Farms & Feedlots, Inc., one of the largest pork production companies in the United States, headquartered in Sleepy Eye, MN. He was considered an icon of the pork industry and was honored for his innovation and leadership.

“Bob was one of the quiet leaders in sporting clays, someone who always stepped in when there was a need without seeking credit for his participation,” said Robert Crow, NSCA Director. “He was supportive of our member clubs, shooters, and the association. Through his own sportsmanship, he set a good example for other shooters, including his own son. He made a very large impact on our association and our sport, and he will be missed greatly.”

Bob is survived by his wife, MaryAnn, and children Robert, 14, and Kellen, 11.

Funeral services will be November 8 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Ulm, MN. Burial will be on November 9 at 10 a.m. at the Prairieville Cemetery in Prairieville Township, Brown County, MN.

Visitation will be today, November 7, 3-8 p.m. at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home, North Chapel, and will continue on November 8 at the church from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service time.
