Joyce Medlen Obituary

We regret to report the death of NSCA shooter Joyce Reece Medlen of Woodlake, NC. Joyce passed away on Sunday, November 9 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital with her husband, Jay by her side.

Joyce was born in Los Angeles, California on February 15, 1938. She served her country in the United States Army and later worked with the federal government in civil service.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Jay David Medlen, also well-known in the shooting community as a FITASC judge.

Joyce was a popular shooter at the National Championship and other major shoots she attended, with many friends in the sporting clays community.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice. No services are planned at this time.
